This policy is a working draft. It reflects how we intend to operate, and it will be reviewed before the store accepts its first order.
We want this shop to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard alone, or at high zoom.
What we are working towards
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as our working standard. We are not claiming we meet it everywhere today. This is a small shop and the site is young; treating accessibility as an ongoing job rather than a finished certificate is the honest description.
What we have actually done
- Measured the contrast of every text and background colour pair we use, and changed one that failed AA.
- Given product cards a visible keyboard focus outline, and made sure anything that appears on hover also appears on keyboard focus.
What we know is still missing
- A full keyboard and screen-reader pass across the whole purchase path.
- Descriptive alternative text on every product image.
What we do not use
We do not use an accessibility overlay widget. Overlays sit on top of a page without fixing the underlying markup a screen reader actually reads, and we would rather fix the markup.
